OUR STORY

COCO KINI started as a hobby, just me and my sewing machine on a small desk in my one bedroom apartment. I was on a mission to create the best fitting, functional bikini possible and it quickly became an obsession and a true passion of mine. My now husband, Jonathan and I were dating long distance at the time so I spent my weekdays self teaching and growing in my seamstress skills and my weekends surfing and traveling with him. For me, it was just fun but he always knew this small business was something special. Fast forward to later that year, I moved to Houston to be with him full time and continued growing coco kini out of our garage apartment while he worked 9-5. We were living a true dream traveling 6+ weeks out of the year but we always knew we wanted something a bit different, we wanted a family and to live by the beach. In 2019 we welcomed our beach obsessed baby boy, Koa and our world and priorities forever changed. In 2020 we finally decided to do what we’d been talking about for all of those years and leave the big city behind. We left the 9-5 and uprooted our little family, relocating back to the coast and making coco kini our full time family job. Everything is designed, handmade, and packaged in house by me and if you reach out via email you’re likely to chat with Jonathan! All of our social media is managed by our family and occasionally you’ll catch us in the wild at local events. We all pull our weight, except for one of us but I won’t name any names!
